The IT industry has been abuzz over the past several years promoting the idea of VDI: virtualizing and centralizing desktops to enable IT to deliver a more secure, manageable, less costly, and ultimately more mature end-user computing model.
In fact, IT departments are finding that with the right investments in infrastructure, VDI can indeed deliver a client computing model that is both better for the end-user (a truly mobile, multi-device computing experience with better performance than dedicated devices) and better for the IT staff.
